A shuttle will take advocates from IHA to the Capitol and back. Advocates also can park at the Capitol. LEGISLATIVE RECEPTION (IHA CONFERENCE CENTER) 4:30 p.m. Legislative Reception Designed to facilitate discussion between hospital advocates and legislators in a casual setting, the legislative reception will further enhance conversations previously held at the Capitol. Drinks and appetizers will be served. SPEAKERS Sandra Conlin is a self-employed contract lobbyist who has worked in public affairs for more than 22 years. Conlin has worked on behalf of health care clients for most of her career and recently began representing the Iowa Hospital Association at the State Captiol. Erin Cubit is a senior director of advocacy at the Iowa Hospital Association. She works on federal and state lobbying activities and regulatory issues. Cubit is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa where she received both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in public policy. She has worked at IHA since 2018. Chris Mitchell has been the president and CEO of IHA since October 2021. Before joining IHA, Mitchell was the executive vice president of advocacy and public affairs for the Michigan Health and Hospital Association. Mitchell began with the Michigan Health and Hospital Association in 2006 as an administrative fellow in the association's advocacy division. From there, he rose through the association's ranks, holding leadership roles in government relations, political affairs and advocacy. He received his bachelor's degree in political science/prelaw from Michigan State University and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame. PROGRAM LOCATION IHA Conference Center, 100 E.
