Notice of a Claim or Investigation? Stop and Breathe: Complaints, Claims and Other Conflicts 101

Tuesday, July 23, 2024 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM   iCalendar Central Standard Time

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

You get a concerning telephone call or a letter. It demands that your organization do something or alleges that it did something wrong and threatens that something worse will happen if you don’t respond. Lawsuits are scary. A government investigation can be scarier. But how you handle them doesn’t have to be. This session will discuss the tools and resources to help hospitals handle these issues and provide a primer on what to consider when facing legal action.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Discuss avoiding common mistakes when reacting to claims and other inquiries.
  • Identify the scope of actions that need careful attention, ranging from traditional litigation and administrative action to types of claims.
  • Outline best practices and learn tips for responding to various challenges involving adverse parties that health care organizations regularly encounter.
