PROGRAM OVERVIEWLast year, the Office of Inspector General released new guidance for compliance programs, marking its first update in 15 years. The guidance provides insight into how the government may evaluate a health care entity’s compliance program in an enforcement action and discusses the seven elements of an effective compliance program. The office also announced it will publish industry-specific guidance for several types of providers, suppliers and other health care industry participants. What does that mean for hospitals?
