PROGRAM OVERVIEW Coaching is a leader’s priority for improving employee and organizational performance, yet few leaders learn to be good coaches. This session will examine what skills it takes to be a good coach and how to create a culture of coaching in your hospital. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Analyze reasons for job dissatisfaction relative to coaching. Discuss elements of creating a coaching culture in a health care organization. Identify the primary behaviors of effective coaches in the health care setting. SPEAKER Mike Freel, Ph.D., is the health care program director at Bellevue University’s College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Freel has a professional health care background and experience in corporate organization and employee development. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Education Advisory Group for the Nebraska Hospital Association. He earned his doctorate in human resources development with a leadership and organizational change focus from the University of Nebraska.
