This conference brings together Iowa home health professionals for collaboration, fellowship, and education. This year’s conference will feature the Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing health facility surveyor, Wendi Lippens, and home health professional Annette Lee, who will share updates and changes that affect Iowa’s home health agencies. For more than a decade, she worked with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ home health and hospice intermediary where she provided reviews of and education about home health and hospice documentation. She worked as a specialist in the medical review, appeals and provider education departments. Lee founded Provider Insights to offer support and education about Medicare reimbursement issues and effective documentation strategies. She also helps providers with survey preparation and appeals. Wendi Lippens is a registered nurse with over 20 years of experience in home health and hospice services, working as a field clinician and then progressing to clinical management and leadership roles. She has worked as a health facilities surveyor for the State of Iowa for 5 1/2 years, surveying home health, hospice and rural health clinics. She holds the position of OASIS Education Coordinator for the state. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in 2015, her Masters in Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree in 2017 and certified health facilities surveyor (CHFS) in 2017. Dr. Allen Lycka is acknowledged as one of the leading cosmetic dermatologists in the world. A pioneer in cosmetic surgery, he helped develop several new technologies and has spoken on podiums around the globe. In 2003, Dr. Lycka was diagnosed with ALS and given 6 months to live. After fighting the diagnosis, he is here today as a result of his courage and determination. Having been given a “golden ticket” Dr. Lycka used his experience to co-author the book The Secrets of Living A Fantastic Life with Harriet Tinka and speaks to groups around the world about transforming lives. CONTINUING EDUCATION IHA (Iowa Board of Nursing provider No. 4) will award 4.0 nursing contact hours. Contact hours will not be issued unless your Iowa license number is provided on the certificate completed the day of the conference. To receive contact hours or a certificate of attendance, you must attend the entire conference. No partial credit will be granted.
