Kyle plays a crucial role in driving efficiency and performance. He leads the process improvement arm of the Strategic Sourcing department, steering technology systems, business processes, and policies that enhance value to customers. Kyle and his team are regular facilitators of performance improvement initiatives such as kaizen events and innovation workshops. They spearhead projects that refine processes, boost communication, streamline efficiencies, establish standardized work, and ultimately increase value to Premier's customers and internal teams. In an additional capacity, Kyle also provides leadership for the Disaster Preparedness and Response function across the Premier enterprise. For major disaster events and supply chain disruptions, he orchestrates the mitigation, response, and recovery efforts across the organization, collaborating nationally with executive leaders in business units such as Supply Chain, Commercial Services, Advocacy, Value Analysis, and Public Relations. These collective efforts continue to support our members and help advance the security and resiliency strategies of the healthcare supply chain industry. Prior to joining Premier, Kyle served on active duty as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. As a Ground Supply Officer, he worked in concert with the U.S. Department of State to direct global supply and logistics operations for 2,100+ Marines serving at 175 Embassies and Consulates, all spanning across 18 time zones. He also served as the Supply Officer for 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, where he led the procurement, warehousing, and distribution operations of mission-critical equipment to outfit more than 500 Marines and Sailors and in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Kyle holds a MA in Procurement and Acquisitions Management from Webster University and received his BA in Political Science from The Citadel. Kyle also holds a Graduate Certificate in Government Contracting from Webster University, a Six Sigma Green Belt certificate from Villanova University, and a Lean Healthcare Project Certification from North Carolina State University. Karen S Niven MS, BSN, RN, CVAHP, FACHDM, FAHVAP, FNAP, is Premier’s Senior Director of Clinical Value Analysis. In that role Karen leads and facilitates the Value Analysis Committee and the clinical process within the Performance Groups and Premier’s committed programs. As a clinical expert she uses her understanding and medical expertise to analyze current and future market technology trends while prioritizing customer needs. In addition Karen’s responsibilities also include assisting the clinical work groups for all Performance Groups as well as working with members and suppliers to identify and develop strategies to introduce new technology and improve product utilization. Karen currently serves AHVAP as their President for a 2 year term ending December 31, 2025. Prior to joining Premier, Karen has more than 33 years of nursing experience in the Perianesthesia and Surgical Services. Her management duties included capital equipment acquisitions, total joint implant management, physician preference product ordering, daily oversight of the Department of Anesthesia, and responsibility for over 50 OR’s 12 Endoscopy procedure rooms and all Pre-op and Post-op departments. Nursing: 1.0 nursing contact hour will be awarded for this conference by IHA (Iowa Board of Nursing provider No. 4). Iowa nursing contact hours will not be issued unless your Iowa license number is provided on the certificate completed the day of the conference.
