2022 HPCAI Special Topic Conference

IHA Conference Center, Des Moines, IA
Wednesday, June 22, 2022 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM   iCalendar Central Standard Time

Hospice Medicare 101 and 201 Extravaganza
Annette Lee, Founder, Provider Insights, Des Moines
This day of immersive real-world learning will pull information directly from hospice Medicare regulations and apply it to real-life applications and hospice operations. This is a great class for new team members and experienced teammates. The conference will lay solid regulatory foundations and build on them with best practices and operations for hospice. The conference will cover eligibility, complex pieces for elections, attending physicians, when patients live in facilities, the validating questions that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services use in the hospice item set, levels of care and determining relatedness.

Learning objectives:
• Discuss the needs and risks for comprehensive assessment and point of care.
• Define the operational and regulatory steps to qualify for the Medicare hospice benefit.
• Identify the CMS intent of hospice item set review and the intent of a process measure versus an outcome measure.
• Identify the new quality measures and how hospice operations can affect these measures.
